The average cost for wedding flowers, including the bride's and bridesmaids' bouquets and groom's and groomsmen's boutonnieres and corsages for the mothers of the bride and groom, along with flower girl flowers, is $698, according to The Bridal Association of America[1] .
The bride's bouquet usually costs $50 to $150 or more - two to three times as much as the bridesmaids' bouquets, because it is larger and more ornate. The boutonnieres are much cheaper, usually about $10 or more.
Cost depends heavily on how many flowers are used, how ornate the bouquets or decorations are, the time of year, the type of flowers used and whether they are locally grown. Simple designs with in-season, local flowers are cheapest while elaborate designs with exotic flowers shipped from far away, especially orchids, are most expensive. For example, on the low end, a simple 20-stem bride's bouquet of one type of bulb flower, such as tulips, hand-tied with a ribbon might cost $50.
In the mid-range, a crescent bouquet with a more expensive flower such as roses or calla lilies might cost $75.
And on the high end, a 40-stem cascading bouquet with roses, gardenias and orchids might cost $120 or more.

Most full-service florists will consult with the customer, then order, arrange and deliver the flowers to the wedding site. Set up of floral decorations is usually included. Some discount florists do not offer these services, so it is important to clarify well ahead of time. TheKnot.com[3] has a list of questions to ask a florist.
Discounts:
Tip: To save money, consider ordering your flowers online and trimming and arranging the flowers yourself. Through Internet wholesalers such as FreshRoses.com[4] or Costco.com[5] , it is often possible to get flowers at a steep discount from what a florist would charge. It may be helpful to order a test bunch of flowers before making a decision.
Shopping for wedding flowers:
While many types of flowers are available year round, you will get the best price on in-season flowers. In the first two weeks of February, flower costs soar for Valentine's Day.
If reducing costs is a priority, give your florist general guidelines on colors and preferred flowers, but allow her the freedom to choose the blooms that are cheapest that week.
Ask a prospective florist to see a portfolio of past work, and consider asking for references.
7 Lesser-Known Discounts for the 50+ Crowd As they age, members of the Baby Boomer generation don't like to admit that they're senior citizens, but they love getting discounts. It's kind of a quandary, because some of the best deals available are reduced prices for older folks. || Posted October 21 2013

1 bridal bouquet/1 toss bouquet, 2 MOH bouquets, 1 jr bride bouquet, 5 bride maids bouquets, 2 wrist corsages, 2 flower girl baskets, 1 ring bearer pillow and supplies for 19 centerpieces (11 tall pilsner vases with approximately 20 flowers attached to a 4" candleholder, 8 sets of 3 decorated tea light holders. Centerpiece job was canceled, bride did not want to pay for extra supplies to complete the job. She gave me a total of $400 to purchase supplies. She owed me $175 for labor and cost of extra goods $135. I gave her a low ball fee of $50 to do all of the centerpieces. Time spent approximately 100 hours researching, purchasing supplies and designing the floral designs. Although the dates on this blog are way older then the current date, I wanted a comparison viewpoint of what vendors are charging.

3 pin-on coursages,1 arm-cuff,cake topper, flower girl bsk w daisy heads,& my bridal bouquet,8 springerri swags w babys breath& candle for reception centerpieces FLOWERS:wedding-starfire lillies,Ht pink roses,bb,heather RECEPTION: mixture of spring flowers, i loved my flowers! Designs was whispy & "high style" I let the florist go with her own ideas,my mother n law was even impressed. Great price for all that I got. I was charged a set up fee, but was worth it bc I didnt have to worry about delivering, setting up.
I bought silk flowers at a Joann Fabrics superstore around November and got all Christmas flowers 50% off, which brought my total of flowers to about $100. I spent $20 on ribbon and floral accessories, and made ALL my bouquets and, with leftover flowers (there were plenty), I made 13 boutonnieres, and 7 corsages myself. I even pulled the hydrangea petals off and rearranged them and hot glued them to look exactly like roses for the small arrangements. Absolutely beautiful, and so inexpensive! All it takes is some creativity and time. I had no idea people were paying so much for flowers. There's no way I could've had such a big wedding on our budget buying fresh flowers. I think I should start my own business!

My Venue comes with floral center pieces.so that totally saved a lot of money. i have 5 bridesmaid, one maid of honor. two junior brides maids, 5 groomsmen, 1 best man. for the two junior bridesmaid my friend is making silk Gerber pink daises, to match the other maids. for the guys im doing white roses, silk, it is a little bit cheaper. then real roses.. then for me my flowers contain stargazer lilies, pale pink roses, dark pink Gerber daisies, then for my maid of honor and bridesmaids im having them hold three large pink Gerber daises, the silk flowers and plus the bouts are costing me 70 dollars.. the real flowers and mine are costing me 350. im using hannahs florist in milltown..
We had a tiny elopement ceremony- no attendants, and I was reluctant to overpay for flowers, nor did I want much/many -really just wanted a simple bouquet and one arrangement, so I debated about doing them myself... started to get nervous at the end and happened to meet someone who offered to do them for me at a 'great price' (she lived next door to the house we were renting for our wedding, so would let us borrow vases, didn't have store overhead, etc). Long story short, she would never give me a quote (despite many messages requesting one) and didn't show up until the Absolute Last Minute (I was over an hour later than planned getting in the shower bc of trying to find this woman--even purchased a back-up set of white roses to use as a stand-by). I will say the bouquet was beautiful, but she did not find any of the flowers I requested (I found my own camelias in honor of my father). The few other flowers for the church were too late (she did not deliver, instead handed to two guests just before the service) to decorate the church, but the few tiny bud vases were not bad, and the one bouquet she agreed to make for the wedding and recepetion (which never made it to the church, only the reception...) was also pretty (altho not with flowers I requested). The imposition of her making us wait would have been forgotten if the surprise bill (which was delivered on a night we took her for a $400.00 'thank u' dinner, thinking she had mostly done this as a neighborly kindness as she had implied) totaled $750.00 (again, for one hand-held bouquet, one boutonniere, home bouquet and a few small bud vases). We were blown away, but didn't argue and paid the bill...she is a single woman, don't want to mention her name or the location -she'll know who she is if she reads this, just want to pass this on to anyone else about the potential for being taken advantage of when you are in the happy, trusting mode of a bride to be :)

Im a budding florist and for my first wedding I was asked to make 30 centerpieces, 40 pew decorations, 6 bouquets (a throw bouquet), 3 boutonniers and 4 corsages. I used calla lilies, roses, gardenias, plumerias, hydrangeas and lavender. I also used ribbon and candles for centerpieces. Part of my service included the set up and clean up of both the wedding and reception site. The bride gave me a lot of free reign, it turned out beautiful and it was very cost effective! I loved it and can't wait to do it again
Also included 9 corsages, and extra flowers for cake decorating. Went to Hobby Lobby whenever florals were half-off. Spent 8 hours on making the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. Totally loved it :)
